The jewelry is ethically handcrafted in both America and Thailand, with a strong emphasis on quality and attention to detail. Maria Sara is committed to responsible sourcing—using only ethically mined metals and carefully selected beads, pearls, and stones from trusted suppliers.
Fun Fact: Every single bracelet is handmade by Maria herself, right in her Hoboken apartment. When we say our jewelry is made with love, we mean it. Anything crafted by hand carries a little bit of magic.
About the Founder
In June of 2016 at 16 years old, Maria presented a two page business proposal to her parents asking for $200 to support her dream idea of creating a jewelry brand, Blue Bone Jewelry. In the following years, Maria spent her summer weekends sitting on the sidewalk in Lavallette, NJ selling her handmade creations on her Nana’s old card table.
Four years later, the 2020 pandemic hit. Home from college and in quarantine, Maria finally had the chance to turn her summer hustle into something more. From there, Blue Bone grew rapidly - evolving from a sidewalk shop into a national brand.
Blue Bone has hosted over 100 pop-up shops along the East Coast, is carried in boutiques across the U.S., and has had features in/on New York Fashion Week, BuzzFeed, and Amazon Prime TV - and it’s only just getting started.
In 2025, Maria made the decision to relaunch her business under her own name - a shift that felt most authentic to the brand she’s building. Having grown up alongside her business, she now has a clear vision: to create pieces designed to live life with you- holding meaning and collecting memories from every wear. Blue Bone was a time capsule of Maria’s young adulthood, each stage of life reflected through different designs. Now evolved into Maria Sara Jewelry, her vision is to create pieces that become a part of your story.
